Fidl Musik – String Duo
Fidl Musik offer beautiful string music for weddings and ceremonies, bringing together two of Australia's most extraordinary violinists to create absolute magic. A musical meeting of two exciting fiddle players, Cleis Pearce and Laura Targett, come together from diverse backgrounds to express a rich, soulful, unique music.
Drawing their inspiration from the ancient songs and tunes of Ireland they explore fiddle playing as a duet with a fluent interpretation and adventure into diverse musical genres, from the Middle East to Gypsy and Celtic, as well as classical, contemporary and original music.
Cleis Pearce
Cleis has a long history playing violin and viola in many creative musical ventures, including improvising and writing music for contemporary dance and poetry performances. Her extraordinary skills of improvisation are an integral part of the duet's sound.
Laura Targett
Laura grew up playing the traditional music of Ireland, Scotland and Europe and toured Australia and NZ with the Irish dance show, Celtic Reign, and various bands. With her unique touch she is now expanding into new musical territories. Together the two highly acclaimed fiddlers bring you sublime melodies old and new, sensitivity, solid rhythm and energy, with two bows, four arms and eight strings!
